Faraway Furniture™ Journeys

Every year Faraway Furniture picks a good cause and we raffle a teak set and send the proceeds to our chosen charity. In 2007 and 2008, with the help of IPC Magazines and Marketforce, we sent over £500 to Wheelpower and another £500 for Down’s Syndrome Association repectivly. This year, without going into too much detail, we hold Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children very close to our heart and therefore we have decided to appoint them as our 2009/2010 charity recipient. The problem we have is that we have run out of ideas on the best way of raising money. One idea was to sell raffle tickets for a grand prize of one of our teak garden sets or indoor sets up to a value of £1500. If you have a good idea on how we can raise as much money as possible for such a great cause, we would be very grateful if you let us know.

Around this time last year, our drivers came back from a delivery to a sleepy little village called Talley in Wales. I will let the pictures do the talking but if you have any information with regards to the ruin in the pictures, please feel free to update us with the information. Our tradesmen are quite good at taking pictures and will tell you anything you want to know about Teak (imagine how exciting our Christmas party is!), but when it comes to remembering a bit of historical information from an interesting site, you might as well ask the Telly Tubbies for a more comprehensive answer.

We thought it would be a good idea to have a blog where we can informally have a chat with our customers and readers. A place where we can tell you about some of the places our drivers have been too when delivering our fine teak garden furniture. They all have cameras with them and they often come with some very interesting pictures and stories of faraway places they have been to and seen. I am often amazed at some of those pictures, and I really never realised there are such lovely places out there on our little island. We would also be using this blog to announce new furniture designs that will be coming soon, the odd article written by one of our Teak experts on subjects such as maintenance, what to look for when buying teak and much more.
